Fittonia Sweater is a seamless top-down raglan-sleeved sweater, worked in a slipped-stitch pattern. The neck is shaped with German Short Rows. After finishing the raglan increases, the sleeves and the body are separated and both are worked in-the-round.
The pattern is available in 9 adult sizes. The sweater I'm wearing in the photo is size 3, with 14 cm/5.5” of positive ease. For reference, I am 170 cm/5 ft 7” tall and my bust circumference is 96 cm/38.5”.
About This Pattern
Sizes: (1, 2, 3) [4, 5, 6] {7, 8, 9).
Bust Circumference: (87, 98, 109) [120, 131, 142] {153, 164, 171} cm/(34.75, 39.25, 43.5) [48, 52.5, 56.75] {61.25, 65.5, 68.5}”.
Suggested ease: approximately 7 cm/2.75” to 15 cm/6” of positive ease.
To choose your size, add the desired ease to the current measurement of your bust and then look in the table for the closest one. For example: if your bust measures 86 cm/34.5”, you should knit size 2 which has a final measurement of 98 cm/39.25” (with 12 cm/4.75” of positive ease).
Gauge: 22 stitches x 28 rounds (10 cm/4”) in slip-stitch pattern, worked in-the-round, after blocking.
Before starting, it is important to knit a swatch to check if you achieve the requested gauge and if you like the texture of the fabric created with the yarns and needles you will use. If you get more stitches than indicated in 10 cm/4”, you should go up to a needle size. If you have fewer stitches than indicated in 10 cm/4”, you should go down a needle size. Significant difference in gauge will affect the finished measurements and final yardage.
Suggested needles: 4 mm/US 6 circular needles or the size needed to achieve the gauge (main needle). 3.25 mm/US 3 circular needles for the ribbing or three sizes smaller than the main needle. Cable length for circular needles may vary as needed. To work small circumferences (such as collar or sleeves) you can use double pointed needles, short circular needles or long circular needles using the magic loop technique.
