Mr. Cloudy Vest is a versatile and stylish sleeveless vest, designed to complement your wardrobe across different seasons and occasions, depending on how you style it. You have the option to knit a summer version with a lighter yarn. It’s the buttoned and updated version of the Mr. Blue Sky Vest, hence the name.
The vest is knitted seamlessly from the top down, allowing you to adjust the length to your preference. It begins with the back, where the shoulders are shaped, then continues to be knitted flat to form the armhole. Each front piece is then knitted separately, shaping the neckline and armhole, before joining both parts with the back and continuing to knit flat. A cable runs vertically along each side of the body. The bottom ribbing is knitted separately. Finally, the armhole and button band edges are completed, resulting in a unique and adastable project. You can choose to finish with a tubular bind-off or simply use a traditional bind-off.
The white sample is knitted with Rosarios4 Canhamo Tweed, a blend of fibers (71% merino wool, 10% hemp, 10% alpaca, 9% viscose), in DK weight.
The burgundy sample is knitted with Ciranda, a fiber blend with a summer tweed effect (48% linen, 24% cotton, 24% viscose, 4% polyester), also in DK weight.
The pattern is available in 9 adult sizes. The vest I’m wearing in the photo is size 3, with 9 cm/3.5” of positive ease. For reference, I am 170 cm/5'7" tall and my bust circumference is 96 cm/38.5”.
