Retro Vibe Vest is a round neck (sleeveless) vest. It is knitted from top to bottom without seams. It begins in a circular motion, shaping the shoulders. To raise the back of the neckline, some Short German Rows are woven, at the same time as the increases are made to form the shoulders and when the braids begin to be woven, one on each side of the front. Then the front is separated from the back, which are knitted separately flat to leave the opening for the arms. When joining the body, it is knitted in a circular motion again. To finish, the armhole stitches are lifted and an elastic stitch edge is knitted in a circular motion.

The design was inspired by the classic braided vests of the 70s. It combines a classic and simple shape, adorned with a braid on each side of the front, making it a timeless complement to any wardrobe.

The approximate yarn yardage per size corresponds to the measurements of the finished garment listed in the table. If you make changes, or if you use a yarn with very different characteristics than the one used in the sample, the amount of yarn may vary. The sample is knitted with Merino Baby Alpaca 50/50 , DK weight yarn.

The pattern is available in 9 adult sizes. The sweater I'm wearing in the photo is a size 3, with 12 cm/4.75 in of looseness. For reference, I am 170 cm/5 ft 7 in tall and my bust circumference is 96 cm/38.5 in

BASIC INFORMATION

Sizes: (1, 2, 3) [4, 5, 6] {7, 8, 9}.

Finished garment measurements: ( 88, 98, 108) [118, 128, 138] {148, 158, 168} cm/(35.25, 39.25, 43.25) [47.25, 51.25, 55.25] {59.25, 63.25, 67.25} in bust circumference approximately.

Recommended ease: between 7 cm/2.75 in and 16 cm/6.5 in positive ease.

To choose your size, you must add the desired ease to the actual measurement of your bust and then look in the table for the measurement that is closest. For example: if your bust measures 86 cm/34.5 in, you should knit size 2 which has a final measurement of 98 cm/39.25 in (with 12 cm/4.75 in of positive slack).

Gauge: 16 stitches x 23 rows (10 cm/4 in) with the main needles in stocking stitch, worked in a circular and blocked.

Suggested needle size: 5mm/US 8 main circular needle, or whatever you need to obtain the required gauge. 4mm/US 6 circular needle (or two sizes smaller than main needle) for knitting neck, body and sleeve elastics. The length of the needle cable can vary as needed.
