Varietal Sweater is a basic sweater with a round yoke. It is knitted in a circular motion from top to bottom and without seams. To raise the back of the neckline, some Short German Rows are knitted. The yoke has evenly distributed increases. Then, the sleeves and body are separated, which are knitted circularly in stockinette stitch. Instructions for short and long sleeves are included.
The approximate yarn yardage per size corresponds to the finished garment measurements listed in the table. If you make changes, or if you use a yarn with very different characteristics than the one used in the sample, the amount of yarn may vary. The sample is woven using two strands together, one of merino wool, fingering weight and the other of kid mohair with silk, lace weight (Merino Land and Aurora, respectively, both from the Rosarios4 brand). This combination of yarns creates an airy, light and soft fabric.
The pattern is available in 9 adult sizes. The sweater I'm wearing in the photo is size 3, with 8 cm of looseness. For reference, I am 170 cm tall and my bust circumference is 96 cm.
This pattern is ideal for you to knit your first top-down sweater with a round yoke. You will find links to short videos that explain the main techniques used, such as: Cable Rig, German Short Twists and the Lori Twist Closure, as well as increases and decreases. If you already have experience knitting this type of sweater, you can enjoy a relaxed knit, to later look like a classic and sober model, or you can use it as a canvas to experiment with colorful yarns.
